In this message, the message centers on responding when god calls for change. Guest speaker Rex Crain challenges us to recognize where God is calling for a shift and respond with faith, courage, and a renewed perspective. Rather than treating the passage as abstract theology, the sermon traces what these truths reveal about God, the gospel, and the way followers of Jesus are called to live.
The sermon follows the biblical text into practical discipleship, connecting doctrine with identity, character, and daily obedience. It challenges listeners to examine the assumptions shaping their lives and to allow the truth of Scripture to renew the way they think and respond. The emphasis is not merely on understanding the passage, but on becoming the kind of people whose lives are formed by it.
Along the way, the message engages themes including responding when god calls for change, a renewed perspective, come, somebody. These ideas help place the primary passage within the larger story of Scripture and show how its theology speaks to real spiritual formation. At its heart, the sermon helps answer questions such as: What does the Bible teach about responding when god calls for change? It also considers how does responding when god calls for change affect everyday discipleship?
For someone studying this passage, exploring the Christian faith, or looking for practical biblical teaching, this sermon offers a clear path from the text to everyday discipleship. The invitation is to hear what Scripture says, receive it with humility, and take the next faithful step in following Jesus.

Um, what a privilege it is to be with you today. How many of you feel good already? Huh? >> Can we just say thank you to our amazing worship band today? Weren't they incredible? Give them a big old clap. And I want to honor all the people that are serving. All of our guys in the back, our technical guys are doing the sound. Come on. Our video. And there's so many wonderful people that are serving. Can we give them a big old clap? I always believe this that serving won't make you famous, but it will let you live rich. And uh you know, it's a really special thing in God's kingdom. I want to say thank you for the privilege to speak here today. I've been speaking for this will be my 30th year here in a couple months uh traveling and speaking all over the world with over 56 countries. And you come across great people in your life and great experiences. And I met uh Nick's servant. I want to give this right. The third. Come on. Is that the third? Right. Because we got the fourth and the fifth now. in the different dimensions and beautiful Kim and uh just wonderful wonderful people and then meeting Pastor Nick Serbin come on our pastor and you know Mark Twain has said I think said it best your best friends are those that bring out the best in you >> isn't that the truth and there's power in community according to Harvard psychology the top 10% happiest among us have relationships built on purpose and where we're going not where we've been how many know it's Great to be able to connect with the people of God because of where we're going both in this life and the life to come and be around other people that are believing God for great things. You bounce back better. Come on. When you have difficulties and setbacks and you have more hope. Isn't that a good thing? So, I just want to say thank you for the privileges to serve. You're such a great man of God. I'm really p privileged to be your friend and to become a new friend to you. So, thank you so very much. My one commercial is I'm a dad and a husband. You said a lot of nice things about me, but I'm a dad and a husband. You say, "What's your story?" I'll give you a quick snapshot. I was a professional athlete playing baseball for the Boston Red Sox. Did not serve the Lord. And I met a 76-y old woman on an airplane on my way to spring training my second year. I had just put a big dip of Copenhagen tobacco on my lip. Was listening to Guns and Roses on my Walkman. Anybody remember Walkman's maybe? Come on. And uh had tattoos and was a big big guy. I was about 20 pounds heavier than I was. And then this woman tapped me on the shoulder and she said, "Can I talk to you?" And wonderful grandmother, she said, 'God's going to work through you and touch people and bring healing to people and deliver people and there's millions of people in the delivery room and God's going to use you. I said, "Bless your heart. You got the wrong guy. I'm an athlete. Come on. That's just that's my world." I said, "You got the wrong guy, but you're a really beautiful, nice lady." And for five hours on the way to Fort Myers, Florida, she made me blind. She prophesied me blind to everything I thought I was. And she gave me vision to a world that didn't exist, but it needed to exist. >> It needed to be cultivated. She'd write me letters every week and say, "Don't quit. Someone's waiting for you." >> And her letters became a hope that united me to my future that God had for me. And so, I gave myself to the things of God. And then God did some really, really special things. So, that's why I'm here today. I get a chance to speak to you. If you have your Bible, go with me to the right hand side. Luke 5. Someone say Luke chapter 5. >> So I said this yesterday when I spoke that if you just listen to me, you'll retain about 8 to N% over the next couple weeks. I would think that's cheating yourself today since you're here and you invested in yourself. If you take notes, you'll retain about 32 to 38%. That's good. But if you actually engage, you'll retain about 92 to 94%. Isn't that worth? If I'm going to be somewhere, I like to go all the way in. Anybody with me on that kind of an idea? So, I encourage you just to participate. Look for an insight. Look for a promise or a word that God would speak to you. What do you mean by that? It doesn't take a million ideas to change your life. But one God idea that you're willing to adopt. Come on. And act on. Come on. That can change your family. It can change your faith. It can change your future. Change how you feel. How many just need a word from God? Come on. You didn't want to just come to church. You wanted to experience Jesus. >> Anybody with me? >> Even Tony Robbins asked me that not too long ago. We were eating the great motivator and he said, he goes, "What are you using to get all the results you get in your life and you're speaking on?" I go, "I use the Bible." >> And he looked at me like Benji the dog. Like for real. His big old head and big teeth. And he's awesome. And he goes, I go, "Yeah, I don't want to build my life on pop psychology, on something trendy or on Facebook quotes or Instagram messages. I want to build my life on eternal truth that has the ability to impact my life now, but also in the world to come." Come on, somebody. I want to build my life on something sturdy. So when life is shaky, I got a firm foundation and I can use wisdom in my life >> to build a great life. So I say that and I'm going to read to you Luke chapter 5 and you're going to love today. Someone say I'm going to love today. >> It goes a little something like this. Verse one, uno in Spanish. It came to pass as the people pressed up on Jesus to hear the word of God. He stood by a lake of Guanessar and he saw two boats anchored in the shallow end where the fishermen were gone out of them and they were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats which belonged to a guy named Peter. Someone say Peter. >> Peter. He asked him if he'd put out a little bit from the land. He sat down and taught the people from the boat. Verse four, when he had stopped speaking, he said to Peter, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a big old catch." Someone say, "A big old catch." And Simon Peter answered, goes, "Yo, Jesus, master, we toiled all night and we caught nothing. Nevertheless, at your word or because you say so, I'm going to let down the net." And when they did it, they caught so many fish their nets began to break. So they called their partners, verse 7, said, "Come into come help us." They caught they came in, they filled so the both boats with the ships uh with so much they said they filled both of the ships so they began to sink. Verse eight, when Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, "Depart from me. I am a sinful guy, oh Lord." for he was astonished and freaked out at all that were with him at the abundance of fish that they had just caught. Verse 10, Das. So it was James and John, sons of Zebedes who were with partners with Peter. They said to Jesus, they were with him. They Jesus said to Peter, he says, "Fear not. From now on, you're going to catch men." And when they brought their boats to the land, they forsook all, come on. and followed him. >> You're going to like today. Watch how powerful. It was a normal day and Jesus was teaching. Okay? Jesus ministry was made up of three things. Teaching, preaching, and healing. >> He gave more emphasis to healing than he did to teaching and preaching. >> Okay? So Jesus was known and that's actually what bothered the religious system. But Jesus is doing his assignment. He's about 30 years of age here and he just stepped into his anointing of what he was anointed for. That had to be weird as God and as a man for 30 years living as a carpenter on the backside of a small poor area. Come on. And a small small poor family knowing you're anointed for a big old life. Come on, somebody. Now he's in this place and he's teaching. And it says people are pressing into him to hear the word of God. I beg you to pay attention just for a couple minutes today. This is your your your life. The word press means to use force or focus to get somewhere in your life. I found in my experience, I don't know if it's true for you, you usually don't press till you get hungry or you get desperate or determined. Aren't usually the biggest breakthroughs, the biggest miracles, the biggest things that you see God come through is when you, come on, disrupted your present. Come on, and you got hungrier than you currently were. >> Doesn't the Bible say blessed are those that are hungry? They are the ones that get filled. >> What does that mean? Not everybody who goes to church gets filled. >> You could be sitting next to someone and they go, "Ah, that's pretty good." Or, "Ah, you know what? That guy's face is a little bit pink." Come on. They could judge things. Come on. Somebody else could be desperate today. They don't care who's speaking. They had to mainline and touch God because they were in a desperate spot. And one got filled and one's crying after a service. The other one just walks out like, "Yo, nothing happened." Come on, somebody. Both were in the same environment. But one's hunger attracted the presence of God while one's other someone lack of hunger let them go out being normal. >> I don't know about you, God is attracted to hungry people. Isaiah 64 says he meets someone that's expecting him. >> Oh man, I don't know about you. I didn't want to just come to church this morning. >> I know I'm the speaker guy. Come on. But I just want to come speak. I want to experience God. >> Man, I'm made by him and for him. Come on. And God only made you, by the way, so he can love you. Stop playing hard to get. >> Oh, that was good. Amen. Come on, somebody. Hey, look. Smile real big and do me a favor. Please smile for at least 5 minutes straight while I speak to you today. I said this on the news the other night when they interviewed me. Psychologically, if you smile for five straight minutes, number one, you'll stir up your metabolism and you'll burn fat. >> Come on, someone's like, "Hey, that was a word." Oh, I got it, Jesus. Come on, somebody. Number two, you'll release so much dopamine in your brain just by smiling. It'll change the cortisol levels. It will reduce it. It will actually be equivalent to a cocaine hit on your brain and you'll feel happiness and joy. And when you smile, number one, you draw people to you. 64 times in the Bible, God references your facial expression. So, I encourage you while you listen to me today and you're inviting, come on, God's presence and word. Please smile. >> Sometimes that's the most spiritual thing you could do. Even when all hell comes at you, smile in the face of your adversary because you know God's still going to come through for you. >> Come on, look at that. Whatever that is, and it's go, I still know Jesus is going to finish what he started in me. >> It might not look good. It might not feel good. Come on, somebody. >> But he's a God of all hope. So, this ends well. >> In fact, let me just park right there just for a second. I'll get back to my message. You need to start saying this ends well. My health might not be well, but it's going to end well. My family might be jacked up, but it's going to end well. My emotions might be strained, but it's going to end well. My economics, my career might be struggling, >> but if I keep trusting God, it's going to end well. Come on, somebody. Anybody need to start, hey, my kids are going to end well. My my future's going to end well. >> We might be a little shaky right now, >> but if it ain't good yet, it ain't God yet. >> Come on, smile real big. They pressed in to hear the word of God. >> Wow. The hungry get filled. I remember going to Africa and I went on safari. I was all pumped up. And I wanted to go watch like a lion eat a zebra. I watched the National Geographic channel. Come on. I'm a man. I don't need my government to tell me what I am. Come on, somebody. >> I can figure it out. Come on. They don't know. Yeah. Things that make you go, hm. I think it was Arsenal Hall. I went I was all fired up and we went I wanted to go see the lions. I love lions. So I drove by the lions at the zulu and there they were. I was all ready to watch a lion eat a zebra and there were about 18 lions. They sat in the grass and they were lazy and they did not get up chucking M&M's at them. Come on somebody. I emptied my Sprite can. Come on. I wanted to instigate a lion and I was bummed. And they say the elephant is the king of the jungle during the day. I go, "Well, what happens at night?" The lion gets hungry. And when the lion gets hungry, he emerges from the grass. And when he does, the whole atmosphere on the whole entire jungle or train or plane begin to change because everyone watches not the size of a lion, but when he gets hungry, the atmosphere changes. >> Isn't it true? When you get hungry, the atmosphere changes in your life. When you get more passionate, your marriage changes. When you get more passionate, your kids change. When you get more passionate, come on, you evolve and you're more leadership oriented and caring for other people. >> I was speaking in a church not long ago and in the middle of the meeting all of a sudden there's a big exit sign and about 2,000 people were in the room. This young character walks through this young cat and he has a wheel a walker and he walks like this and he has big big glasses like Urkl. Remember Urkl? He walks all the way to the front and the security doesn't stop him. And he goes, "Hey, Mr. Rex." I go, "Yeah, my young brother." I go, "How can I help you?" He goes, "I heard you say that Jesus was in this room." I go, "He is. He's present today." And he goes, "I heard it. I was sitting way up there and if he's here," he goes, "I decided to come down because if Jesus is here, I don't want to have cereubal pausy anymore." >> And I go, "Well, I'm talking to 2,000 people right now. Do you mind if I pray for you after? He goes, "No, no, no, no. Now would be a good time." >> 15 years old. Come on. Big old Coke, bottle, glasses, and a walker. And I go, "Why?" He goes, "Cuz I don't want to wait. If God's here, what if he leaves?" >> He don't want to miss a moment. So this young character had probably the least amount of Bible knowledge, but he got off his tushy. Come on, somebody. and he repositioned himself for God to touch him because he was hungry for something. >> So I said, "You're gonna have to give me your walker and hold on to my shoulder." And he goes, "Okay, Mr. Rex, I'll do it." And I go, "God, if you're anywhere around the neighborhood, help him out." Real man of faith, huh, >> Jesus, if you're anywhere around the neighborhood, help him out. My prayer. And I felt the power of God. He goes, I feel this warm stuff in my body. I go, that's my prayer. God's answering my prayer. I said, "Hold on to my shoulder and let's walk." And he was walking like this. It didn't look like any miracle was happening, but he was proud of himself because he wasn't walking with a walker. And then all of a sudden, he hit 11th step or so. And all of a sudden, I don't know what happened in his biochemistry of his body, but everything shot back into place in his spine. He straightened up and that young man took off. All the people were recording it on all their videos. It's probably online. You can go look at it in a moment. And it wasn't because it was so great minister prayed for him. >> It was because a young man heard that God was in the room and I want to reposition myself and I got to get a little bit hungry than I currently am. They were pressing in this day to Jesus. Watch. And Jesus noticed, watch, boats were anchored in the shallow end. Come on, somebody. >> To be anchor means to be tied down, weighted down, to be locked down in the shallow end. Most drownings occur amongst experienced swimmers in the shallow end >> because they're so confident that they can touch, they forget there's an undercurrent and the undercurrent takes out experienced swimmers >> if we're not mindful. Come on, somebody. We'll settle for a shallow experiences and think we're standing. Come on, somebody. And there's an undercurrent that can take you out. >> That's a whole message in itself called shallow water blackout. >> That's good. Good. You ought to preach it better than me. Nick serbon fourth. Third, sorry. Watch. Watch how powerful. I wonder what's locked down and anchored in your shallow end. What's tied down? What about the dreamer inside you? Remember as a kid you had dreams. >> Come on. Your life was driven by your dreams. I remember we used to chase the ice cream truck with no money. >> By faith, you were going to get a big stick. Come on. Remember, we were poor. Come on, somebody. We just didn't know it. But wasn't our lives driven by our dreams? You talk to most people now. How's life? I'm fine. How's your marriage? I'm fine. How's your career? I'm fine. How's my economics? I'm You're fine. How's your health? Fine. That four-letter f word keeps jacking your life up. >> It's not so great that you celebrate anything, but it's not painful that you do something about. So, you settled for I'm fine. >> That word keeps messing your life up. But as a kid, you had dreams. Come on. Some of you were G.I. Joe. Some of you was a ninja turtle. Come on, somebody. Some of you was Barbie. Come on. Now it's Peppa Pig or whatever. >> Sheriff Callie. Come on. I don't know what it is. Doc McStuffins. Whatever. Watch. What do you mean by a dream? In every generation, God looks for dreams. Come on. Dreamers to bring dreams to life. He had Abraham, the richest guy in the world, and he made him lay down in the middle of a desert and count stars. In Genesis 15, he says, "Whatever you can see is what you can have." >> Oh, interesting. Maybe that's true. The Bible says, "Without a vision or a dream, we perish." Helen Keller said, "What's worse than being born blind? >> Having sight with no vision and dream." >> And by the way, there's a reason why we sing and worship in church. Is it just to sing to make God feel good? >> No. Because when you worship, you learn things that go beyond your intellect. Cuz usually it's your logic that puts a lid on what God can do in your life. Cuz your logic is based on your experience. But God wants to take you far and beyond what you can imagine. Eyes not seen, ears not heard. Neither is it enter your heart what God has prepared for those that does anybody love God and still believe he is able. >> Well, I'm just this. Stop saying you're just this. You ain't just nothing. You're made in the image of God and the spirit of Jesus is inside you. >> I wonder what dream he wants to wake up and bring to life. Dreams are product of your desires, but they're pictures of your potential. >> What you can do that you haven't done. Come on. Where you can go that you haven't gone. Watch how powerful. I helped this guy and he had come out of a really bad gay lifestyle. And he's a really wonderful guy, but he was sick because of that lifestyle. I took him into my home because I don't believe in judging people. I believe in influencing people. >> Anybody with me? >> I don't believe in sinning with people, but I believe in being a friend of sinners. >> Took him into my home, paid some of his medical stuff, took him to his medical thing. He goes, "You didn't judge me." I go, "I can't judge you because if I judge you, I can't influence you. >> I need mercy from the same God that you need mercy from. >> I need forgiveness and redemption just the way you do." Come on, somebody. Who am I to judge you, >> man? any grace in my life, any beauty is because of the blood of Jesus. Come on, somebody. I didn't attain it by my church performance. He goes, "Thank you." He goes, "Can I bring a friend of mine to you and she's getting ready to go to the porn industry and she's in a really bad spot." I go, "Well, you have to show up with her. I'm not going to meet her by myself." So, he showed him my office at that time. They came into the office and she sat in there. She came in. Really beautiful woman. And I go, "Can I just be curious? Why would you want to go down this path?" She goes, "Well, my life sucks." I'm like, "Okay, that's interesting." I said, "Tell me why." She goes, "My mom died when I was one." I go, "Oh, that's tough. My my dad died when I was nine. Everyone that comes close to me dies. I don't feel like I have purpose. What's the point? I'll just let him use my body. I'll make money. Whatever." And all of a sudden, I go, I could understand why you're bothered in pain because oppression will blind your reasoning to what's possible for your life. >> Come on, somebody. Sometimes you can only see what your setbacks allowed you to see. And so I said to her, I go, "Hey, have you ever wanted to be married?" She goes, "I've always wanted to be married." I go, "Write that down." She writes down, "Always wanted to be married." "Well, have you ever wanted to have a child?" I've always wanted to have a child. Why is that? She goes, "Because I think it would be amazing to be able to give love and share love." Like I didn't have a mother. And I said, "Write that down. Have you ever wanted to live in a certain way of a house or she wrote that down and all of a sudden she grabbed her paper in this meeting and she started SCREAMING AH I didn't know whether to call Dr. Phil or do an exorcism come on somebody. I was like raasha what did you do? SHE GOES I HAVE TO HAVE THIS. I didn't know that this WAS IN MY HEART. I HAVE TO HAVE IT. I SEE MY FUTURE. I HAVE TO HAVE THIS. SHE starts crying. No one led her in a BIG OLD PRAYER. I HAVE TO HAVE MY FUTURE. She goes, "I see it." SHE GOES, "LET'S GO TO THE BATHROOM." WHAT? She goes, "Let's go to the bathroom." I said to the guy, "You're coming with me. I ain't going by myself to her to the bathroom." We went to the bathroom and she opened up her purse and she started handing me heroin. She started handing me other different drugs. She says, she goes, "You got to flush this for me so I can have this. >> This is my dream. See, sight's a function of your eyes, but vision's a function of your heart. God gave you the gift of vision, so you don't live controlled by what you see. Your vision is your future. You make the vision. Come on. And the vision makes you. >> What's the dream God's calling you to give birth to this year? If you're breathing, there's something inside you God hadn't got out of you yet. Come on, somebody. Don't let that die in the richest place in the world. That's your graveyard next door. >> As I drove by there this morning, come on. on the way here. Come on. That was where the sacred grounds where dreams never became reality. I love yous were never shared. Songs were never sang. Leadership never went beyond the drawing board of someone's mind. Faith never went beyond an idea. >> Let's have a real talk. Come on. You're here and anointed to bring forth something and give birth to something. No wonder the enemy's tried to put challenges at you. So at best you arrange your faith around your comfort, not creation. >> Anybody with me in here? >> Come on. A dreamer. I'm a dreamer in my core. The language of the Holy Ghost. >> Acts 2, Joel 2 would be visions and dreams. Paul the Apostle said, "I will come to vision and dream." >> Oh, he says it's going to come to me. I'm going to come to it. Yeah. >> If I'm walking with God, new vision, new dream. Come on, somebody. >> Why? Because without a vision, you settle for where things are >> or return to the past. Come on. >> You actually life becomes tasteless. You get around people that dream, they're not negative. The only people that criticize you are those doing less than you. >> Smile. Come on. You know that's true. The only ones that criticize the dreamer are the ones that have settled and satisfied and they accept life, not choose life. >> Watch how powerful you're one dream away. If God's able to do more than you can imagine, imagine what you can imagine. Sometimes I say, "Jesus, let's do this. Jesus, imagine what you and I can do together." >> You ever had that kind of a conversation? Jesus, imagine what we can pull off. >> God was waiting his whole entire eternity. Something in your eyes to get you here. Come on, somebody. And imagine the possibilities you linked up with the impossible one. >> God, just meet my needs. >> God, just give me enough to live on. >> Come on. That might be setback thinking. Let's have comeback thinking and beyond and start say, "God, hook me so up so I can be a blessing to other people. Enrich me to enrich people. Give me wisdom to solve some big problems. Give me creativity. Help me impact the younger generation." >> Help me bless my family, not just exist with my family. >> You feel me? >> What's the dream you got to give birth to? Watch. There's power in your dreams where the future's created and fueled. But what about the lover in you? Has a lover been Oh, he's in listless. The lover has a lover become watch lost, lazy, now in the shallow end. Come on. Dreams give you your future. But love determines how much of it you enjoy. >> Wow. >> Jesus didn't say they would know you by your what? Your gifts. They would know you if you have love on your life. Come on. >> Watch. It's amazing in this world how social media and I speak for Facebook. I speak for those companies. How these gadgets have made so many people's love cold >> cuz it's pitted us against each other and made us, come on, somebody judgmental and critical if someone doesn't think and believe just like us. >> That we've lost sight of who they can be and made ourselves more valuable in the relationship with people. >> But my Bible says he who wins souls is wise. >> Think about love. You're affected by the presence of it and the absence of it. >> You're most passionate. Come on. Most alive when you have it. Anybody ever hear fall in love before? >> Come on. Anybody fell in love? Come on, somebody. >> Okay. Oh, you're right. I love you. Come on. You're going to get You probably make out later. Come on, somebody. That was good. Hey, look at that smile on her face. You must be loving her well. >> Yeah, baby. Come on, man. I love you. I want to hug it out with you. Come on, somebody. You guys are fantastic. Watch this. Think about this. Remember like what was it? Make a sound when you first fell in love. What was that sound like? Yeah. Anybody? Come on. Remember like when you first got married? For those of you who are married, come on. They say, "Hey babe, do you mind like taking out the trash?" Okay. Anybody with me? >> Hey babe, do you mind doing the dishes? You don't even know how. You're like by faith. You're like four or five years in. Hey babe, take out the trash. You take out the trash. >> Babe, do the dishes. Uhuh. You do the dishes. I'm tired. >> By the way, let me throw a hint. If you treat them at the end like you treated them at the beginning, you never have an ending. >> That's for real. I'm going to get a golf clap out of that. That could have saved your whole flipping marriage. Give the Lord a clap and a shout. Come on. Give him some energy. Up in here. Up in here. Come on. You love this. This is good for your soul. Think about it. You're most passionate when you have it. Most alive when you have it. You're most empty when you give up on love. >> Come on. Betrayal. You can start to put walls up between you and love. Come on, somebody. You become a mannequin. Cuz love can hurt. Yeah, >> you throw this line out because it's a powerful revelation. I wrote it down last night. When love doesn't come, it breaks your heart. >> But when you don't give a love away, it hardens your heart. >> Let me just say that again. That was good. Amen. White boy, go on with yourself. Come on. I come from B East Compton, California. Come on. God put an anointing. Watch this for a minute. When love doesn't come, it breaks my heart. But if I don't give love away, it hardens my heart. >> And a hard heart doesn't see value anymore. And when you see less, you give less. >> Am I the only one that's failed at this before? >> Come on. I don't got it all together. Has anybody? Come on. Anybody failed besides me? >> But I learned something out of my own failures. Because it's amazing what you can learn if you don't view it as failure, but learning. >> Come on. Watch how this idea will love. If you'll reduce your expectations but increase your appreciation, your suffering will stop. >> When do you suffer in your love life? When you have high expectations of everybody else and your appreciation's low. Why? Because when it's high, you grade the person. >> How can I love my wife if I'm grading her to see if she hits all my expectations? I now have to manipulate and use her to get what I want. And that's called lust, not love. >> Because lust looks like, what can I get from you? >> What have you done for me lately? Dude, come on. Yeah, that's the wisdom of Jenna Jackson. That's not good. But isn't that the way we live? >> Okay. Well, you don't you don't do this for me. So, you stack up all the negatives and then love doesn't work. >> What if love started working going, I'm just going to magnify what's beautiful. I'm going to stack up what we do enjoy. I'm going to stack up our great experiences. I'm going to stack up, come on, all the good >> and I'm going to appreciate you for not trying to cure you or heal you or manipulate you. I'm just going to enjoy you for who you are. >> WOW. A GIFT, A sacred gift. >> Come on. What happens? Your suffering stops. Wow. I wonder where the lover needs to re-engage. Find someone and tell them who they are in your eyes. They'll rise to the level of your confession. Jesus goes in the shallow end. And up until this time, he'd had a casual relationship with Simon Peter. He met him a year and a half prior. He first time he met him, he didn't go, "Oh my gosh, you're a third generational fisherman. You cuss like crazy. you need to stop. >> In fact, he cussed out Jesus. Come on. And cursed him. And Jesus still let him preach on the day of Pentecost two weeks later. >> Things that make you go, >> think about all those crazy disciples. Give yourself a break. You got cussing Peter.
